Ready to join this training in Horticulture

for 2017

Are you interested in gaining an accredited qualification in Horticulture Level 2. 


This free flexible programme delivered from Ormiclate, South Uist is accredited through SQA

and will give students the opportunity to choose optional units that suit their skills and interests.

Please Note

Places still available for any budding gardeners who are interested in the Level 1 course. This is ideal for complete beginners or those who are already working or volunteering in this field.

The 9-month course will enable you to gain an SVQ Level 1 in Horticulture whilst working in your own garden, allotment, or community garden. It will lead you through the process of seed planting and caring for seedlings to how to dig the potato patch, enjoy the harvest of your own vegetables and much more.

Coming soon - graduation pictures of the 2016/17 classes who have achieved the SVQ in Horticulture at Level 1 and 2.
 

We are pleased to announce that the new course, delivered in partnership with Lews Castle College, during 2015/16

has resulted in 11 students achieving the SQA accredited SVQ in Horticulture Level 1.

Congratulations to the students and supporting staff for all their hard work.

A special award ceremony took place in early March for students to receive their well earned certificates and you can read more

Falachan Cothrom is an excellent growing space and with all the improvements
